Hamas has submitted its response to mediators regarding a ceasefire proposal with Israel, with Palestinian officials indicating that the response is positive and could help reach an agreement.
According to Reuters, a Palestinian official stated that Hamas’s response is constructive and could pave the way for a ceasefire. In a written statement, Hamas acknowledged the significant efforts made by mediating countries to broker a truce with Israel.
US President Trump Announces Israel’s Acceptance of Ceasefire Terms
U.S. President Donald Trump previously announced that Israel had accepted the necessary conditions for a 60-day ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. Trump stated that U.S. representatives held “long and productive” talks with Israeli officials, adding, “Israel has accepted the conditions required to finalize a 60-day ceasefire. During this period, we will work with all parties to end the war.”
Trump also noted that Qatar and Egypt, the mediators in the talks, would present the “final proposal” to Hamas.
