Russian Drone Attack on Kharkiv Leaves 27 Injured, Including Three Children
A Russian drone attack on Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second-largest city, has left 27 people injured, including at least three children, according to Ukrainian officials.
Ukrainian authorities have reported that a Russian drone attack on Kharkiv, carried out overnight, injured 27 people, including at least three children. The attack damaged several apartment buildings and a kindergarten.
Kharkiv, located in northeastern Ukraine near the Russian border, has frequently been targeted by Russian drone and missile strikes. Mayor Ihor Terekhov stated that a fire broke out in a multi-story building as a result of the attack.
Oleh Sinehubov, the regional governor of Kharkiv, confirmed that most of the injured were in the Shevchenkivskyi district and that emergency services are continuing their work at the scene.
Russia has not yet commented on the attack. However, earlier on the same day, a Russian strike on the Sumy region in northeastern Ukraine killed two people, injured two others, and damaged around 20 buildings.
In the capital, Kyiv, Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported that a nighttime attack damaged several buildings and vehicles in 10 districts, though there were no casualties.
