11-Year-Old Afghan Girl Becomes Germany’s Youngest High School Graduate

Kokcha News Agency: Lina Haider, an 11-year-old girl of Afghan descent, has become Germany’s youngest high school graduate after completing her secondary education in six years. Last week, she received her diploma from St. Adelheid School in Bonn.

Lina skipped several grades after passing an aptitude test at the age of seven, allowing her to directly enter middle school. She then continued to advance rapidly, completing the 11th grade at age 10 and graduating at 11. German media have described her as a “genius” who could count to 10 by the age of two and found regular school lessons “boring.”

Christoph Oldemeier, the principal of St. Adelheid School, said, “From the beginning, we knew Lina was exceptional. It was our duty to create the right conditions for her talents to flourish.”
