Kokcha News Agency: The process of legally sending Afghan workers to foreign countries has commenced, with the Taliban’s Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, describing it as a crucial step in improving Afghanistan’s economic conditions and tackling unemployment.

During a ceremony marking the start of this initiative, Baradar expressed gratitude to Qatar for accepting Afghan workers and urged other countries to facilitate the legal employment of Afghan laborers.

The Taliban and Qatar have reached an agreement to send 2,000 Afghan workers, with the registration process set to begin tomorrow (Tuesday, 7 Asad) in various provinces across the country.

The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs has also revealed that, in addition to Qatar, negotiations are ongoing with Iran, Russia, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Tajikistan, Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Saudi Arabia regarding the employment of Afghan workers. These discussions are reportedly in the final stages.

This initiative is seen as a potential lifeline for Afghanistan’s struggling economy, which has been grappling with high unemployment and economic instability since the Taliban’s return to power.
