The visit by Barrack and his delegation marks a significant diplomatic engagement between Syria and the United States, as the two countries continue to navigate complex regional dynamics.

Controversial “Peace” Poster Sparks Reactions
Meanwhile, a “peace” themed poster featuring images of Syrian President Ahmed Shara and U.S. President Donald Trump was displayed in Damascus, sparking mixed reactions on social media. The poster, created by the Citizens Organization for Security and Stability (C4SSA), included the English phrase, “Strong leaders make peace, the Syrian people thank you.”

The poster was initially interpreted by some as a reference to potential peace agreements between Syria and Israel, leading to backlash on Syrian social media. In response, C4SSA President Bakr Ghbeis issued a statement on the social media platform X, clarifying the intent behind the poster.

Ghbeis stated, “This message was prepared to express our appreciation for the steps toward rapprochement between countries in political, economic, development, and other areas. The phrase ‘Strong leaders make peace’ is neither directly nor indirectly related to Syria-Israel agreements or any negotiations with Israel.”
