Russian Media Intensifies Criticism of Trump: Compared to Biden, Called “Bipolar”
Following U.S. President Donald Trump’s criticism of Russian President Vladimir Putin over the Ukraine war, Russian state media and social platforms have ramped up their negative commentary against Trump. Some now compare him to Biden.

According to Kokcha News Agency, after Trump’s remarks criticizing Putin for his comments on the Ukraine conflict, the tone from Russian state media has shifted. Moscow Times reports that, previously, Trump was portrayed as a “pragmatic alternative” to Biden by official outlets, but now they are questioning his judgment, intelligence, and political credibility.
Close to the Kremlin, TV hosts like Vladimir Solovyov suggested Trump is going through a “Bidenization” process, claiming that he “believes he is the only one able to speak with Putin,” which has now made him “another version of Biden.” Olga Skabeyeva, a prominent anchor, argued that the U.S. might use Ukraine’s alleged chemical weapons investigations to “destroy the regime,” implying possible misinformation efforts by U.S. intelligence.
Moreover, state-affiliated comments interpret Trump’s criticism as reflecting anxiety that Ukraine’s war is not unfolding according to his “own plans.” On Rossiya 1 TV, it was suggested that Trump’s “personal Afghanistan” was coming to an end, and that he is increasingly resembling Biden’s approach. On several social media channels and Telegram, analysts claim Trump might ultimately “misspeak” more than Biden and make public mistakes.
Following Trump’s remarks after his July 4 call with Putin—where he promised continued military support to Ukraine—many users on VKontakte and other platforms called him “foolish,” “brash,” or “bipolar.” Some comments even speculated that Trump’s promise to send more arms might just be a “bluff,” since official reports suggest that the U.S. has actually paused some supplies.
