South Korea Claims North Korea Sent Over 12 Million Artillery Shells to Russia for Ukraine War

South Korea’s Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) has alleged that North Korea has supplied Russia with more than 12 million 152 mm artillery shells to support its war against Ukraine, revealing the extent of military cooperation between Pyongyang and Moscow.

Kokcha News Agency: According to a report by South Korea’s Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), North Korea has provided Russia with over 12 million 152 mm artillery shells to aid its ongoing war in Ukraine. The report, which highlights the deepening military collaboration between Pyongyang and Moscow, estimates that the total amount of military supplies sent by North Korea to Russia amounts to approximately 28,000 containers.

The 152 mm artillery shells are a critical component of Russia’s artillery operations in Ukraine, and the sheer volume of the supplies underscores the significant role North Korea is playing in supporting Moscow’s war efforts.

North Korea Also Sent Troops to Russia
The military cooperation between North Korea and Russia has intensified since North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement during a summit in Pyongyang in June. Following the agreement, North Korea has reportedly sent around 13,000 troops to Russia to support its war in Ukraine, starting in October.

In addition, South Korea’s National Intelligence Service (NIS) revealed last month that North Korea is preparing to send additional troops to Russia in July or August. Recent reports also suggest that Pyongyang plans to dispatch 5,000 military construction workers to assist in the reconstruction of Russia’s Kursk region.
