With more rain expected in various parts of the country in the coming days, the agency has emphasized the need for preventive measures to avoid further loss of life and property.
Impact on Infrastructure
The relentless downpours have caused significant damage to roads and bridges, disrupting transportation and communication networks. The NDMA has called for immediate repairs and the reinforcement of vulnerable infrastructure to mitigate the impact of future rainfall.
Call for Preventive Measures
The NDMA has urged local authorities and communities to take proactive steps, such as strengthening embankments, clearing drainage systems, and relocating residents from high-risk areas. The agency has also advised people to stay informed about weather updates and avoid unnecessary travel during heavy rains.
