North Korea’s Kim Jong Un Reaffirms Unconditional Support for Russia’s Actions in Ukraine

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has reiterated his country’s unconditional support for Russia’s actions in Ukraine during a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, as tensions escalate over military drills in the region.

Kokcha News Agency: North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has reaffirmed his country’s unwavering support for Russia’s actions in Ukraine during a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. According to the North Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), Kim stated that North Korea is “ready to unconditionally support and encourage all measures taken by the Russian leadership” to address the root causes of the Ukraine crisis.

Kim emphasized that the two countries share strategic views and are committed to strengthening bilateral relations. The meeting took place as part of the second round of strategic talks between North Korea and Russia, highlighting the deepening ties between the two nations.

North Korea Criticizes Joint Military Drills
In a separate statement, North Korea’s Ministry of National Defense criticized joint air exercises conducted by South Korea, the U.S., and Japan, calling them a “major factor in escalating military tensions on the Korean Peninsula and in the surrounding region.”

North Korea’s Military Support to Russia
Meanwhile, South Korea’s Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) claimed that North Korea has sent approximately 28,000 containers of weapons and artillery shells to Russia since the start of the Ukraine conflict. This alleged military support underscores the growing strategic partnership between Pyongyang and Moscow.
