Trump to Zelenskyy: “Volodimir, can you hit Moscow?”

Kokcha News Agency – U.S. President Donald Trump allegedly encouraged Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to consider striking deep into Russian territory if provided with long-range weapons, according to a report by *The Financial Times* (FT). The conversation, which took place on July 4, reportedly saw Trump ask Zelensky if Ukraine could target Moscow and St. Petersburg if the U.S. supplied the necessary arms.

Sources familiar with the call revealed that Trump asked Zelensky, “Volodymyr, can you hit Moscow? Can you hit St. Petersburg?” Zelensky reportedly responded, “Absolutely… If you give us the weapons, we can do it.”

The discussion also included Trump’s apparent support for the idea, with the U.S. President suggesting that such a strategy would “make Russia feel the pain” and force the Kremlin to return to the negotiating table. A Western official briefed on the call stated that the conversation reflected a growing desire among Ukraine’s Western allies to provide long-range weapons capable of “taking the war to Moscow.”

Following the call, a list of potential weapons that could be supplied to Ukraine was reportedly shared with Zelensky during a meeting in Rome. The list included long-range attack systems, with Ukraine specifically requesting Tomahawk missiles. However, the Trump administration expressed concerns about Ukraine’s “restraint,” echoing similar worries from the previous Biden administration.

The White House and the Ukrainian Presidential Office declined to comment on the report.
