During a daily press briefing, Bruce addressed questions about the PKK’s recent public ceremony in Sulaymaniyah, Iraq, where weapons were burned as part of the organization’s disarmament process.

Bruce stated, “As we know, this is very important. They wanted people to see that they were actually doing it—burning their weapons.” She emphasized that the US views the PKK as a foreign terrorist organization and that any step toward disarming and eliminating the threat is welcomed.
