Freedom Flotilla Coalition’s New Ship “Hanzala” Prepares to Sail to Gaza, Breaking Israel’s Blockade

Kokcha News Agency: The Freedom Flotilla Coalition’s new ship, “Hanzala”, is preparing to set sail from Gallipoli port in Italy to Gaza, carrying humanitarian aid in an attempt to break Israel’s blockade. The ship initially departed from Syracusa Port on July 13 but had to dock in Gallipoli on July 15 due to technical issues.

After extensive efforts by volunteers from the Freedom Flotilla Coalition and Palestinian supporters, the final preparations for the ship’s journey have been completed. The ship is now almost ready to sail, with the goal of reaching Gaza without stopping at any other port. Notably, this time, there will be no Turkish citizens on board.

Shuaib Ordu, an activist who participated in the coalition’s previous mission, “Madleen”, and was detained and later released by Israel, is assisting with the preparations for the ship’s departure. Among those boarding the ship is Gabrielle Cathala, a French MP.

The ship is named after “Hanzala”, a character created by Palestinian cartoonist Naji al-Ali, which symbolizes a barefoot refugee child turning his back on injustice.
