6.7 Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Off the Coast of Russia’s Kamchatka Peninsula

A 6.7 magnitude earthquake has occurred off the coast of Russia’s Kamchatka Peninsula, with the tremor originating at a depth of 10 kilometers, according to the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ).

Kokcha News Agency: A 6.7 magnitude earthquake has been reported off the coast of Russia’s Kamchatka Peninsula, located in the country’s Far Eastern Federal District.

The German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) initially reported the earthquake’s magnitude as 6.2, but later revised it to 6.6 and then to 6.7. The tremor occurred at a depth of 10 kilometers.

The United States Geological Survey (USGS) also confirmed the earthquake’s magnitude as 6.7. No tsunami warning has been issued following the quake.

As of now, there is no information regarding any casualties or property damage resulting from the earthquake.
