Trump Claims to Prevent Deportation of Afghans from the UAE

Kokcha News Agency: US President Donald Trump has intervened to prevent the deportation of Afghan refugees from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), according to reports. Emirati authorities had reportedly arrived at a refugee camp in Abu Dhabi without prior notice to inform 32 Afghan men, women, and children of their planned deportation.

The Afghans, who had sought refuge in the UAE, were reportedly at risk of being handed over to the Taliban. Trump, in response to these reports, has pledged to help Afghan citizens and prevent their deportation.

This development comes amid growing concerns over the treatment of Afghan refugees in the UAE and other Gulf countries following the Taliban’s return to power in Afghanistan in 2021.
