Israel’s Deputy PM Threatens Annexation of West Bank in Response to France’s Recognition of Palestinian State
Israel’s Deputy Prime Minister Yariv Levin has declared that Israel will respond to France’s decision to recognize a Palestinian state by annexing the West Bank. Meanwhile, Israeli Foreign Minister Saar criticized French President Macron, urging him to focus on securing the streets of Paris.

Kokcha News Agency: In a sharp response to France’s recent move to recognize a Palestinian state, Israel’s Deputy Prime Minister Yariv Levin stated that Israel would retaliate by annexing the West Bank. This comes amid growing international pressure for a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Levin’s statement underscores Israel’s firm opposition to any unilateral recognition of Palestinian statehood.
In a separate development, Israeli Foreign Minister Saar took aim at French President Emmanuel Macron, sarcastically suggesting that Macron should focus on ensuring security in the streets of Paris rather than intervening in Middle Eastern affairs. Saar’s comments reflect the escalating tensions between Israel and France over the Palestinian issue.
Macron, however, has remained steadfast in his position, emphasizing the need for a comprehensive solution to the conflict. In a recent statement, Macron said, “At the same time, Hamas must be disarmed, Gaza must be made safe and rebuilt. Finally, a Palestinian state must be established and sustained. By agreeing to disarm and recognizing Israel, Hamas can contribute to the security of everyone in the Middle East.”
Macron stressed that there is “no other alternative” to resolving the conflict and that the international community has a responsibility to demonstrate that peace in the region is possible.
In a significant diplomatic move, France and Saudi Arabia are set to co-chair the “International Palestine Conference” from July 28 to 30. The conference will focus on finding a peaceful, two-state solution to the Palestinian issue, with the participation of key international stakeholders.
