Kokcha News Agency:The United States has notified the UN Security Council that President Donald Trump is seeking an agreement to end Russia’s war in Ukraine by August 8. The Trump administration has also indicated that the US is prepared to implement additional measures to achieve peace in Ukraine.
During a press briefing aboard Air Force One on Tuesday, Trump told reporters, “Starting today, ten days. Okay?” This statement came after he had earlier announced in Scotland that he was shortening the 50-day deadline he had previously given Russia to reach a peace deal with Ukraine.
The Trump administration’s push for a swift resolution underscores its urgency to bring an end to the conflict, which has caused significant humanitarian and geopolitical turmoil. The US has not yet detailed what specific measures it might take if Russia fails to comply with the deadline, but the announcement has already drawn attention from international observers.
