Pakistan Cabinet Approves Reduction in Tariffs on Afghan Agricultural Products

The Pakistani cabinet has approved a reduction in tariffs on agricultural imports from Afghanistan, following an agreement between the two countries to increase trade volume.

Kokcha News Agency: The Pakistani cabinet has approved a reduction in tariffs on agricultural products imported from Afghanistan. According to the 24 News television channel, the two countries reached an agreement last week to boost trade volume.

Pakistan will offer a discount of 5% to 26% on four agricultural products imported from Afghanistan, including tomatoes, grapes, pomegranates, and apples.

The tax on tomatoes has been reduced from 27% to 22%. Additionally, the tax on grapes, pomegranates, and apples has been reduced from 53% to 27%.

In return, Afghanistan will provide Pakistan with a tax discount of 20% to 35% on four commercial goods.

The tax on potato exports from Pakistan to Afghanistan has been reduced from 57% to 22%. Furthermore, the tariff on M and Kino products exported from Pakistan has been reduced from 47% to 27%.
