Ukraine Targets Russian Military Support Facilities in Retaliatory Strikes

The Ukrainian Armed Forces have launched attacks on several targets in Russia, claiming they support the Russian military, in response to recent Russian air strikes on Ukrainian cities.

Kokcha News Agency reports that the Ukrainian military has announced a series of successful strikes on confirmed Russian targets that support the armed aggression against Ukraine. The attacks, carried out on the night of August 2, targeted key facilities in Russia, including oil refineries and a fuel and lubricant plant.

In a statement, the Ukrainian Armed Forces said, “The strikes were a response to the recent terrorist attacks by Russia, which resulted in civilian deaths and injuries in Ukrainian cities.” Among the targets hit were the “Ryazan” and “Novokuibyshevsk” oil refineries, as well as the “Anna Nefteprodukt” fuel and lubricant plant in the Voronezh region.

Additionally, an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) attack was reported on the “Penza Production Association Electropribor” facility in the Penza region, which produces telecommunications systems, cryptographic communication equipment, and printed circuit boards for military hardware.

The operations were conducted by the Ukrainian Unmanned Systems Forces, Special Operations Forces, and the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), in coordination with the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense (GUR).
