UK Plans to Bring 300 Critically Ill Children from Gaza for Free Treatment

The UK has announced a plan to evacuate up to 300 critically ill children from Gaza to receive free treatment under the National Health Service (NHS) in response to the worsening humanitarian crisis in the region.

Kokcha News Agency reports that the UK is taking action in response to the severe humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Under a new plan, up to 300 critically ill children from Gaza will be evacuated to the UK to receive free treatment through the National Health Service (NHS).

The humanitarian initiative, which is expected to be officially announced in the coming weeks, aims to address the deepening malnutrition crisis in Gaza. Health officials in the region have reported that at least 92 children have died so far due to hunger-related causes.

The plan has garnered significant support from the UK government, with Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer previously committing to the evacuation and treatment of severely injured children. Over 100 Members of Parliament have also signed a letter in support of the project.

This state-backed program will run parallel to privately funded initiatives like Project Pure Hope, which has so far facilitated medical visas for only three Gazan children. Authorities have stated that the health conditions of the children brought to the UK will be prioritized, and their treatment will be guaranteed under the NHS.
