Netanyahu Urges Red Cross Aid for Gaza Hostages Amidst Stalled Negotiations
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu appealed to the International Committee of the Red Cross for urgent food and medical assistance for Israeli hostages in Gaza as ceasefire negotiations remain deadlocked.
Kokcha News Agency – Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu met with Julien Lerisson, the regional director of the International Committee of the Red Cross, to discuss the plight of Israeli hostages held in Gaza.
Netanyahu specifically requested urgent intervention to provide essential food and medical aid to the hostages.
This plea comes against the backdrop of stalled indirect negotiations between Israel and Hamas, which aimed to establish a 60-day ceasefire and facilitate a hostage exchange. These negotiations concluded without a resolution last week.
Adding to the tension, Hamas has reaffirmed its stance that it will not abandon its armed resistance until a fully independent Palestinian state, with East Jerusalem as its capital, is established. On Saturday, Hamas released a second video featuring hostage Evyatar David.
In the video, David appears severely weakened, claiming he has been without food and water for days and has been forced to dig his own grave.
