Death Toll from Starvation in Gaza Rises to 181, Including 94 Children

Kokcha News Agency – The humanitarian crisis in Gaza has reached devastating levels, with the death toll from starvation now standing at 181, including 94 children, according to the Gaza Health Ministry. The blockade imposed by Israel has left many Palestinians desperate for food, with parents risking their lives daily to find even the most basic sustenance for their families.

Zainab Dakka, a mother in Gaza, told Al Jazeera that she has to bid farewell to her children every time she leaves their shelter in search of food, unsure if she will return. “There were gunshots and death until, thank God, I found some flour,” she said. “I’m really happy. I faced death to bring flour to my children. They go to sleep hungry every day. They want to eat something good.”

Dakka described the heart-wrenching moments before she leaves to find food: “I kissed my sons and daughters before I left. I didn’t know if I would come back with food. Thank God, I got some beans and a little flour for the children. I wish every country would send us flour. People go out to get aid and die. We don’t know if they’ll return or not. Even if I die, the most important thing is to get flour for my children.”

Starvation Deaths Rise to 181:
The Gaza Health Ministry reported that hospitals in Gaza recorded six new deaths due to starvation and malnutrition in the past 24 hours, including one child. This brings the total number of deaths from hunger-related causes since the start of the Israeli offensive to 181, with 94 of them being children.

In addition to the starvation crisis, medical sources reported that at least 21 Palestinians were killed in Israeli attacks across various parts of Gaza this morning.

The ongoing blockade has left Gaza’s population, already devastated by years of conflict, in a state of extreme deprivation. International organizations have repeatedly called for the lifting of the blockade and the immediate delivery of humanitarian aid to prevent further loss of life.
