Trump Focuses on Gaza Food Crisis, Leaves Israel’s Occupation Plan to Israel
U.S. President Donald Trump declined to comment on Israel’s plan to fully occupy the Gaza Strip, stating that the decision is up to Israel, while emphasizing his focus on addressing the food crisis in Gaza.

Kokcha News Agency – U.S. President Donald Trump, during a press briefing following a signing ceremony at the White House, responded to questions about Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s plan to fully occupy the Gaza Strip, which is currently under siege and facing ongoing violence.
When asked if he supports Israel’s plan, Trump replied, “I don’t know what their proposal is on that. That’s entirely up to Israel. Right now, we’re working on getting food to the people there. The people in Gaza are not in a good situation with food. That’s what I’m focused on.”
Trump also mentioned that the U.S. is collaborating with Israel to distribute food aid in Gaza and that some Arab states will contribute financially to these efforts.
On Russia and Ukraine:
President Trump also touched on U.S.-Russia relations, noting that Middle East Special Representative Steve Witkoff will meet with Russian officials in Moscow on Wednesday. Trump said he is awaiting the outcome of these talks before making any decisions on further sanctions against Russia.
“I never gave a percentage, but we’re going to do a lot on that front. You know, we have a meeting with Russia tomorrow. We’ll see what happens. Then we’ll make our decision,” Trump said.
Trump reiterated his desire to end the Russia-Ukraine war as quickly as possible, though he acknowledged that the process is more complex than it appears. He cited his role in de-escalating conflicts between India and Pakistan as an example of his commitment to resolving international disputes swiftly.
On Succession and Fed Appointments:
When asked about his previous statement that he is not considering a third term, Trump pointed to Vice President JD Vance as a likely candidate for the Republican nomination in the future.
“I think most likely. To be fair, he’s the Vice President. (Secretary of State) Marco (Rubio) could also team up with JD in some way. Of course, it’s too early to talk about this, but he’s definitely doing a great job and is probably the favorite right now,” Trump said.
Regarding the upcoming vacancy on the Federal Reserve Board, Trump stated that he will make a decision by the end of the week. He noted that there are currently four candidates under consideration for the position of Fed Chair.
