Israel’s Plan for Total Occupation of Gaza Sparks Global Condemnation

Israel’s Security Cabinet has approved a plan for the complete occupation of Gaza, drawing widespread international criticism, with countries and organizations warning of further humanitarian disaster and violations of international law.

Kokcha News Agency – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s plan for the “total occupation” of Gaza has been approved by the Israeli Security Cabinet, prompting a wave of international condemnation. The plan, which includes five key conditions for ending the occupation, has been met with sharp criticism from countries and international organizations, who warn of escalating violence and humanitarian crises.

The conditions set by Israel include:

  1. The disarmament of Hamas.
  2. The return of 50 hostages, 20 of whom are believed to be alive.
  3. The complete demilitarization of the Gaza Strip.
  4. Israel’s full control over the Gaza Strip.
  5. The establishment of an alternative civilian administration, replacing Hamas and the Palestinian Authority.

Turkey was among the first to condemn the plan, with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stating that it “strongly condemns” the decision. The ministry accused the “fundamentalist Netanyahu government” of continuing its “genocide against Palestinians” and warned that every step taken to expand the occupation poses a severe threat to international peace and security.

Australia also expressed concern, with Foreign Minister Penny Wong urging Israel to reconsider its path. Wong emphasized that the only way to ensure lasting peace is through a two-state solution, with Israel and Palestine living side by side within internationally recognized borders.

The United Kingdom joined the chorus of criticism, with Prime Minister Keir Starmer calling the decision “wrong” and warning that it would only lead to more bloodshed. Starmer stated that the move would not help end the conflict or secure the release of hostages but would instead create further humanitarian disaster.

The United Nations also weighed in, with UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk calling for the plan to be halted immediately. Türk warned that the escalation of violence would lead to more mass displacements, deaths, and crimes against humanity, based on all evidence gathered so far.

China expressed serious concerns over the plan, with a spokesperson for the Foreign Ministry stating that “Gaza belongs to the Palestinian people and is an inseparable part of Palestinian territory.”

Sweden also condemned the move, with Foreign Minister Maria Malmr Stenergard stating that Israel’s plan to annex Gaza violates international law and is a source of great concern.
