Russia Claims Capture of 7 Settlements in Donetsk in One Week

Kokcha News Agency – The Russian Defense Ministry reported that its forces have seized seven settlements in the Donetsk region over the past week, from August 9 to 15.

In a statement, the ministry detailed the activities of the Russian military during this period, including attacks on Ukraine’s military industrial facilities, transportation infrastructure, ammunition depots, and assembly and storage sites for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

The statement also mentioned that Russian forces targeted centers where Ukrainian soldiers and foreign mercenaries were trained and temporarily stationed.

The ministry claimed that the settlements of Shcherbinovka, Yablonovka, Lunacharskoye, Suvorovo, Nikanorovka, Iskra, and Aleksandrograd in the Donetsk People’s Republic were “liberated” during the week.

Additionally, the ministry provided an update on the overall damage inflicted on the Ukrainian military since the start of the war, stating that 665 aircraft, 283 helicopters, over 77,000 UAVs, 625 air defense missile systems, 24,584 tanks and armored vehicles, 1,586 multiple rocket launchers, 28,544 artillery pieces and mortars, and 39,700 special military vehicles have been destroyed.
