Deadly Monsoon Rains Claim 350 Lives in Pakistan
At least 350 people have died in Pakistan due to heavy monsoon rains, landslides, and flash floods in the northern regions, according to Pakistani authorities.

“Kokcha News Agency” – Pakistani officials have reported that at least 350 people have lost their lives following severe monsoon rains, landslides, and flash floods in the northern parts of the country. The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) stated that these incidents occurred on Friday, August 24, causing widespread devastation.
According to the NDMA, the majority of the casualties, 290 people, were recorded in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Additionally, 10 deaths were reported in Gilgit-Baltistan and 50 in Pakistan-administered Kashmir. Authorities also confirmed that a military helicopter crashed during a rescue mission in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa due to adverse weather conditions, killing all five crew members on board.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department has issued a fresh warning for the northwestern regions, urging people to avoid unnecessary travel in vulnerable areas. The monsoon season, which provides 70 to 80 percent of South Asia’s water, is crucial for agriculture but often brings significant damage and heavy casualties.
