Mount Etna Continues to Erupt, Spewing Lava and Ash

Mount Etna, one of Italy's most active volcanoes, continues to erupt, spewing lava and ash, with aviation alerts raised to the orange level.

“Kokcha News Agency” – Mount Etna, located near the city of Catania in southern Italy, has been erupting strongly since last evening, spewing lava and ash into the air. The eruption continued into the early hours of the morning.

The lava flow is being fed by an effusive fissure that opened on August 10 between the Bocca Nuova and Southeast craters at an altitude of 3,000 meters. The volcano became active again on August 14.

The most advanced lava front has reached an altitude of approximately 2,700 meters. Meanwhile, explosive activity of varying intensity from the Southeast Crater has caused ash to spread across the summit area. Aviation alerts have been maintained at the orange level, indicating heightened volcanic activity.
