Israeli Navy Strikes Sana’a, Targeting Energy Facility

The Israeli military has targeted an energy facility in Yemen’s capital, Sana’a, with naval strikes, disabling some generators and escalating tensions in the region.

Kokcha News Agency – The Israeli Navy carried out a strike on an energy facility in Yemen’s capital, Sana’a, according to a statement from the Israeli military. The attack targeted a facility allegedly serving the Houthi rebel regime, which Israel has labeled as a terrorist organization.

The Israeli military stated, “Israeli forces targeted an energy facility deep inside Yemen that serves the terrorist Houthi regime.” Local media reported that residents in the area heard at least two explosions following the strike.

Houthi-controlled Al Masirah TV confirmed that an electricity plant in southern Sana’a was hit, resulting in some generators being rendered inoperable.

Hizam Al-Assad, a member of the Houthi Political Bureau, had previously accused Israel of targeting civilian infrastructure in a social media post, stating, “The guilty and bankrupt enemy is only targeting service facilities and civilian structures: electricity, water, and more.”

The Iran-backed Houthi rebels have controlled Sana’a and parts of Yemen since September 2014.
