Afghan-American Diplomat Removed from Position for Opposing Taliban
Mari Kabir Siraj Bishaping, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State in the U.S., has been removed from her position after taking a strong stance against the Taliban’s repressive policies.
Kokcha News Agency – Marie Kabir-Siraj Bishopping, a prominent Afghan-American diplomat serving as Deputy Assistant Secretary of State, has been removed from her position. The “Green Movement,” led by Amrullah Saleh, claims that her dismissal came after she openly criticized the Taliban’s oppressive policies.
Marie Kabir-Siraj Bishopping had previously engaged in a verbal dispute with her European counterparts at a conference in Paris due to her outspoken views. Despite her distinguished legal background and experience on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, her removal highlights the U.S. government’s sensitivity to covert policies and backdoor agreements with the Taliban.
International law experts believe that Marie Kabir-Siraj Bishopping’s independent and forthright stance, which has always aligned with her professional conscience, did not align with the unstated strategic interests of U.S. security institutions.
Marie Kabir-Siraj Bishopping, who was appointed as the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Afghanistan, has been dismissed from her role following her outspoken criticism of the Taliban. Bishaping, a descendant of Afghanistan’s royal family, had previously clashed with her European counterparts at a conference in Paris, where she criticized what she described as their misguided policies.
Her clear and uncompromising stance did not align with the unstated and covert policies of U.S. intelligence agencies. According to reports, the Taliban, under the Doha Agreement, has been covertly employed as a strategic ally in the U.S.’s broader geopolitical interests.
If these reports are accurate, it suggests that, unlike Zalmay Khalilzad, Mari Kabir Siraj Bishaping refused to compromise her conscience for position or financial gain. We wish her success in her future endeavors.
