Kokcha News Agency – U.S. President Donald Trump has set his sights on reforming the election system, vowing to eliminate mail-in ballots and electronic voting machines ahead of the 2026 midterm elections. In a statement posted on his social media account, Trump argued that these systems are “expensive, controversial, and flawed,” and instead proposed the use of watermarked paper ballots.
Trump claimed that paper ballots are “ten times cheaper, faster, and clearly show the winner on election night.” He also asserted that the U.S. is “the only country in the world that uses mail-in voting,” suggesting that other nations have abandoned the system due to “massive fraud.”
The president accused Democrats of engaging in “unprecedented levels of cheating” and predicted that his initiative would face strong opposition from the Democratic Party. Trump further claimed that states act as “agents” of the federal government in counting and tabulating votes, stating, “States must implement the president’s orders for the good of the country.”
In his statement, Trump also criticized Democrats on various issues, including open border policies, the participation of transgender individuals in women’s sports, and the “woke” agenda. He concluded by emphasizing, “You cannot have a country without fair and honest elections, and strong borders,” and pledged that the Republican Party would “fight to the end to bring integrity and honesty to elections.”
