Germany Requests Pakistan to Return Deported Afghans
Germany’s Foreign Ministry has confirmed that Pakistan has deported over 200 Afghan citizens eligible for Germany’s resettlement program back to Taliban-controlled Afghanistan, urging Islamabad to allow their return and resume visa processing.

Kokcha News Agency – Germany’s Foreign Ministry has confirmed that Pakistan has deported more than 200 Afghan citizens who were part of Germany’s resettlement program back to Taliban-controlled Afghanistan. On Monday, August 27, German Foreign Ministry spokesperson Joseph Hinrichs called on Islamabad to facilitate the return of these individuals to Pakistan and ensure the continuation of their visa process for Germany.
Hinrichs explained that Pakistani police had previously detained around 450 Afghans who were part of Germany’s program to relocate Afghan associates and their families. So far, 211 of them have been deported to Afghanistan.
According to Hinrichs, some of these individuals have been transferred to temporary camps, but nearly 350 others still face the serious risk of deportation. These Afghans include those who were part of Germany’s support program for local associates and their families following the fall of Afghanistan in 2021.
However, Berlin’s strict immigration policies and the wave of deportations from Pakistan have halted the implementation of this program, leaving the fate of over 2,000 other applicants uncertain.
