White House Viral Photo: Real or Fake?
A viral photo showing European leaders allegedly waiting in line to meet President Trump has been debunked by Ukraine’s Disinformation Center as fake.
Kokcha News Agency – A photo circulating on social media, which purportedly shows European leaders waiting in line to meet U.S. President Donald Trump at the White House, has been declared fake by Ukraine’s Center for Countering Disinformation.
The photo, which went viral, depicts Emmanuel Macron, President of France, and six other European leaders sitting in a corridor, seemingly waiting for Trump. However, upon closer inspection, inconsistencies are evident. In the photo, a pair of legs is visible on a chair next to Macron, but the upper body is missing. Additionally, the photo shows three women, but only two female leaders—Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, and Giorgia Meloni, Prime Minister of Italy—were present at the meeting. The clothing worn by the women in the photo also does not match the official attire seen in other White House photos from the summit.
The Ukraine Disinformation Center officially debunked the photo, stamping it with the word “fake.” The agency stated, “A fake photo is circulating online showing European leaders lined up waiting to meet U.S. President Donald Trump near the Oval Office.”
The Ukrainian agency accused Russian propaganda networks of creating and spreading the AI-generated photo, stating, “In reality, this photo was created using artificial intelligence and is being disseminated by Russian propaganda to discredit European leaders and undermine the importance of their participation in the negotiation process.”
