New Order from Pakistani Taliban: Do Not Hand Over Soldiers’ Bodies to Islamabad
The Pakistani Taliban (TTP) has instructed its fighters not to hand over the bodies of Pakistani soldiers to the government and instead bury them in secure locations. The group cited the inhumane and disrespectful treatment of Taliban members' bodies by Pakistani security forces as the reason for this decision.
Kokcha News Agency – The Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has issued a directive to its fighters, ordering them not to return the bodies of Pakistani soldiers to the government and to bury them in secure locations instead. The group justified this decision by accusing Pakistani security forces of treating the bodies of killed Taliban members in an inhumane and degrading manner.
Mohammad Khurasani, the spokesperson for TTP, stated in a press release that Pakistani forces leave the bodies of Taliban fighters exposed to the elements, both in heat and cold, and refuse to hand them over to their families in accordance with humanitarian principles.
This order comes after the killing of 33 TTP fighters in the Sambaza area of Zhob district in Balochistan. Reports indicate that some individuals attempting to retrieve the bodies were detained by Afghan Taliban intelligence.
Among those detained is a former commander of the Haqqani network, known as “Ghalchaki Tangiwala,” who has been transferred to Pul-e-Charkhi prison. The TTP has emphasized that, until further notice, the bodies of Pakistani soldiers will not be handed over to the government in Islamabad
