Afghanistan Liberation Movement: Taliban’s Treatment of “Mohammad Daoud’s Body” Violates Islamic and Human Principles

Kokcha News Agency – The Afghanistan Liberation Movement issued a statement early Sunday morning (2nd Sunbula), condemning the Taliban’s actions as contrary to human, Islamic, and human rights values.

The statement noted that Mohammad Daoud was an active member of the anti-Taliban opposition and had participated in several military operations against them. His last operation resulted in the death of Hassan, a Taliban commander in Herat and head of the 10th security district, along with his guards.

According to the statement, Daoud was identified after being betrayed by a Taliban-affiliated spy and was wounded in a clash with the Taliban on Friday before being executed.

The movement stated that after killing Daoud, the Taliban dragged his body through the streets and then hanged it in one of the city’s squares—an act they described as a blatant disrespect and a clear violation of Islamic and human principles.

The Afghanistan Liberation Movement also reported that the anti-Taliban group had identified and killed the spy involved in Daoud’s betrayal.

It is worth noting that on Friday, the Taliban executed a man accused of collaborating with opposition groups, shooting him and then hanging his body on an old tank at the Kandahar Gate in Herat. Eyewitnesses reported that Taliban members kicked the corpse’s head and face, while a crowd filmed the scene.

In the published images, a paper was attached to the back of the body, reading: “Death to the Afghanistan Liberation Movement.”
