Kokcha News Agency – In a significant development in the ongoing conflict, Russia and Ukraine have exchanged prisoners, with each country releasing 146 soldiers. The exchange was mediated by the United Arab Emirates (UAE), according to a statement from the Russian Ministry of Defense.
The Russian Ministry of Defense also announced that eight Russian citizens from the Kursk region were released as part of the exchange. The freed Russian soldiers are currently in Belarus, where they are receiving necessary medical and psychological support. They will be transported to Russia for further treatment at the Ministry of Defense’s health centers.
This prisoner swap marks a rare moment of cooperation between the two warring nations, as the conflict continues to escalate. The UAE’s role as a mediator highlights its growing influence in international diplomacy.
