Erdoğan: “With the Steel Dome System, We Will Reach a New Level in Air Defense”

Kokcha News Agency: President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered a speech at the “Steel Dome Deliveries and Facility Openings” ceremony held at ASELSAN’s Gölbaşı Campus. During his speech, he emphasized that Turkey is making significant strides in its defense capabilities with the introduction of advanced air defense systems.

Erdoğan stated: “Today, we are delivering 47 units of the Gök Kubbe systems, worth $460 million, to our heroic army. These systems will instill confidence in our friends and fear in our enemies. The deliveries made today are the most concrete evidence that our efforts have not been in vain. No country that cannot develop its own radar and air defense systems can confidently face the current security challenges, especially in our region. With the Steel Dome system, we will reach a new level in air defense.”

Regarding the Oğulbey Technology Base, whose groundbreaking ceremony was held today, Erdoğan said: “With an investment of $1.5 billion, this project is the largest single defense industry investment in the history of our Republic. The Oğulbey Technology Base, with 585,000 square meters of indoor space and 132,000 square meters of production area, will become one of the most advanced defense technology centers in the region.”

Erdoğan added: “While the main opposition is trying to spread despair and pessimism among the youth of our country, we are opening new horizons for our young people. Our defense systems not only meet our domestic needs but are also made available to our friends and allies, increasing our diplomatic influence. In the next 50 years, Turkey will not only be a country that meets its own needs but will also shape the world with its technology.”
