NATO Chief Rutte: Recent Attacks Show We Cannot Be Naive About Russia
NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte has emphasized that the recent Russian attacks on Kyiv demonstrate the need for vigilance and unwavering support for Ukraine to ensure its self-defense and lasting peace.

Kokcha News Agency – NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte addressed the recent Russian missile strikes on Kyiv, which resulted in significant civilian casualties and damage to the European Union (EU) Delegation building. Rutte stated, “Last night’s horrific attacks on Kyiv, which claimed the lives of many innocent civilians, once again show that we cannot afford to be naive about Russia.”
Rutte called for continued support for Ukraine, saying, “We must ensure that Ukraine has everything it needs to defend itself and achieve lasting peace.”
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that the Russian air strike on Kyiv killed 14 people, including three children, and left dozens injured. The EU Delegation building in Kyiv was also damaged in the attack, prompting the EU to summon Russia’s representative to the European External Action Service (EEAS).
France, Germany, and the UK have also condemned the attack.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen held phone calls with US President Donald Trump and Zelenskyy regarding the attack, stressing that Russian President Vladimir Putin must come to the negotiating table.
