Thousands of Bangladeshi Protesters Demand Global Action Against Israel

Thousands of Bangladeshi protesters took to the streets of Dhaka on Friday, calling for international action against the Israeli regime and expressing solidarity with the Palestinian people.

Kokcha News Agency – In a massive show of support for Palestine, thousands of Bangladeshi citizens gathered in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, to protest against Israel’s actions in Gaza. The demonstrators began their rally in front of the Baitul Mukarram Mosque, demanding that the media be given access to Gaza to “show the world what Israel is doing.”

The protesters, led by Jihadul Islam, the head of the student wing of the Jamaat-e-Islami party, read out a statement declaring, “Gaza is the failure of all of us.”

The statement called on the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to impose sanctions on Israel and urged the Bangladeshi interim government to avoid signing any contracts with Zionist companies.

Protesters also demanded that aid be sent to Gaza and that lessons about Palestine and the Al-Aqsa Mosque be included in Bangladeshi school curricula.

In a related development, Bangladeshi journalists held a separate protest called the “Human Chain of Silence” to condemn the killing of journalists by Israeli forces.

**Background:**
Since October 7, 2023, Israel, with the support of the United States, has waged a devastating war against the residents of the Gaza Strip, causing widespread destruction and significant human casualties. Despite its stated goals of destroying Hamas and freeing Israeli captives, the Israeli regime has failed to achieve these objectives.

According to the Palestinian Health Ministry, the death toll in Gaza has reached 63,025, with 159,490 injured since the start of the Al-Aqsa Storm operation on October 7, 2023.

In the same period, the Israeli regime has killed 246 journalists.
