White House Dismisses Speculation Over Trump’s Health as Baseless Rumors

The White House has pushed back against widespread speculation about former President Donald Trump’s health, calling the rumors “crazy and baseless” after Trump made a public appearance to announce the new location for the U.S. Space Command headquarters.

Kokcha News Agency – Former President Donald Trump returned to the public eye on Tuesday to announce the new location for the U.S. Space Command headquarters, dispelling rumors that had circulated on social media suggesting he was seriously ill or even deceased. Trump, who had been out of the public spotlight for a week, used the opportunity to address the speculation about his health, insisting that he had been “very active” over the Labor Day weekend.

The rumors began to gain traction after photos of Trump’s bruised hands circulated online, leading to widespread speculation about his health. Trump, who has reportedly been self-conscious about the bruising, dismissed the concerns, stating, “It’s sort of crazy. A lot of people know I was very active this Labor Day.”

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt also addressed the rumors, calling them “made-up speculation” pushed by “Democrat activists and left-wing lunatics.” She emphasized that Trump has been transparent about his health, unlike his predecessor, Joe Biden, who faced questions about his age and acuity during his presidency.

Behind the scenes, sources close to Trump revealed that the bruising on his hands has been a recurring issue for some time, attributed to frequent handshaking and his use of aspirin, which can make bruising more common. Trump’s physician, Dr. Sean Barbabella, had previously diagnosed him with chronic venous insufficiency, a common condition in older adults that causes blood to pool in the veins. However, the White House has maintained that there is no indication of any serious health issues.

Despite the White House’s reassurances, conspiracy theories about Trump’s health have continued to circulate online. Some social media users have fixated on the bruising and other minor health concerns, such as swelling in his legs, as evidence of more serious conditions. However, medical experts have dismissed these claims, with Dr. Megan Ranney, dean of the Yale School of Public Health, stating that the bruising is likely due to Trump’s age and use of aspirin.

Trump’s public appearance on Tuesday marked the end of a six-day period during which he had not spoken to the press, the longest such stretch since he took office. However, he remained active on social media, posting lengthy messages on Truth Social and conducting an interview with the conservative-leaning Daily Caller.

As Trump approaches his 80th birthday next June, questions about his health and fitness are likely to persist, especially as the 2024 election cycle heats up. Despite the scrutiny, Trump’s allies have continued to emphasize his stamina and accessibility, contrasting him with Biden, who has faced criticism for his limited public appearances.
