Kokcha News Agency reports that Iranian and IAEA officials are set to meet in Vienna to define a new model of cooperation. Reza Najafi, Iran’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations in Vienna, announced that a new round of talks between the Iranian delegation and IAEA officials has begun.
Najafi stated that the discussions aim to outline cooperation under the new conditions set by a law passed by the Iranian Parliament on June 26 and approved by the Guardian Council. The law temporarily suspends Iran’s cooperation with the IAEA, bans inspectors’ access, and will only be lifted if Iran’s nuclear rights are recognized and security guarantees are provided, subject to approval by the Supreme National Security Council.
“These talks will define the ‘new cooperation model’ between Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency and will be conducted at the expert level,” Najafi said.
The new law has prompted Iran to engage in discussions with the IAEA to establish a framework for future collaboration under these revised conditions.
