675 Arrested in Anti-Macron Protests Across France

In the wake of widespread protests against President Emmanuel Macron’s policies, French authorities have arrested 675 people, with 280 detentions occurring in Paris alone.

Kokcha News Agency – France has been rocked by massive anti-government protests following the collapse of François Bayrou’s right-leaning government and the appointment of Sebastian Lecornu as the new Prime Minister. The protests, organized under the slogan “Let’s Stop Everything,” saw approximately 200,000 people take to the streets in 850 locations across the country.

The demonstrations, which turned violent in cities like Paris, Lyon, and Rennes, were fueled by growing discontent with Macron’s policies and the political instability that has exacerbated France’s debt crisis. The fall of Bayrou’s government has also put additional pressure on France’s credit rating, adding to the economic uncertainty.

French Interior Ministry data revealed that 675 people were arrested during the protests, with 280 of those arrests taking place in Paris. The protests reflect a deepening political crisis in France, as citizens demand change and accountability from the government.
