Trump: Israel Decides How to Deal with Hamas / Qatar is an Exceptional Ally
U.S. President Donald Trump has stated that Israel will determine how to confront Hamas, while praising Qatar as an "exceptional ally" of the United States.

DOHA (Kokcha.News) — U.S. President Donald Trump has emphasized that Israel will decide the course of action against the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), while lauding Qatar as an “exceptional ally” of the United States.
In a press briefing on Sunday, Trump responded to questions regarding Israel’s recent attack on Doha, Qatar, aimed at targeting Hamas leaders. He stated that he had advised Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to “be careful when attacking others.”
Trump also highlighted Qatar’s role as a key ally, noting that he had conveyed this sentiment to Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of Qatar.
The remarks came after Trump hosted Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, in New York on Friday. The meeting, which lasted two hours, was attended by U.S. Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkopf.
Following the meeting, Hamad Al-Muftah, Qatar’s Deputy Head of Mission in Washington, tweeted, “An excellent dinner with the U.S. President.”
Meanwhile, U.S. news network *NewsNation* reported, citing a knowledgeable source, that the meeting between Trump, Witkopf, and Al Thani went well, with discussions focusing on future steps and yielding positive results.
Reuters also reported, citing a source familiar with the meeting, that the parties discussed Qatar’s future as a regional mediator and defense cooperation following Israel’s recent attack on Hamas leaders in Doha.
Earlier, Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs had announced that the Prime Minister met with U.S. Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Washington.
