Macron Announces France’s Intention to Recognize Palestinian State on September 22
French President Emmanuel Macron has announced that France intends to recognize the State of Palestine on September 22 in New York, during a phone call with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, as part of a broader peace plan.

Kokcha News Agency – French President Emmanuel Macron, in a statement posted on the US-based social media platform X, revealed that he spoke with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas over the phone. Macron informed Abbas that France intends to recognize the State of Palestine on September 22 in New York, in response to the extremely urgent situation in the Palestinian territories, including Gaza.
Macron stated that this recognition would be part of a peace plan, emphasizing the need for reforms within the Palestinian Authority to ensure the stability of a future Palestinian state.
“I reiterated our demands to the Palestinian Authority,” Macron said. “President Abbas, for his part, reaffirmed his commitment to implementing the necessary reforms to renew the Palestinian Authority and ensure the stability of the future Palestinian state.”
Macron also stressed that France will continue to support the Palestinian authorities on this path and ensure that commitments to the region’s security and stability are fulfilled.
