European Airports Strive to Return to Normal After Cyberattack

Efforts to restore normal operations are ongoing at some of Europe's busiest airports following a cyberattack that targeted Collins Aerospace's booking and boarding systems, causing significant disruptions at London Heathrow, Berlin, and Brussels airports.

Kokcha News Agency – Last week’s cyberattack on Collins Aerospace’s systems led to major disruptions, particularly on Friday, when check-in processes were brought to a standstill.

The attack caused widespread flight cancellations and delays, with Belgium requesting the cancellation of half of today’s planned flights due to ongoing issues.

While problems have largely subsided at Berlin and Heathrow as of yesterday, delays and cancellations continue to affect passengers.

Collins Aerospace has announced that it is in the final stages of completing necessary software updates to restore full functionality. However, a spokesperson for Brussels Airport stated that the secure and updated software version has not yet been delivered, meaning cancellations will persist today.

Authorities have noted a partial improvement compared to previous days but warned passengers, especially those traveling from Brussels, to expect additional cancellations and long wait times.
