Iran has canceled its annual military parade, which is traditionally held during "Defense Week," citing security concerns. The decision was made to avoid large gatherings and focus on national defense preparations amid emerging threats.

Kokcha News Agency – Iran has announced the cancellation of its annual military parade, a key event during “Defense Week,” due to security concerns. The decision was confirmed by a commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in an interview with the Young Journalists Club, a state-affiliated media outlet.
The commander stated, “Every year, we hold a military parade on the first day of the Sacred Defense Week, but this year, due to emerging threats, we have decided to avoid large gatherings and focus our preparations on national defense.”
The annual parade, held on September 22, marks the anniversary of the start of the Iran-Iraq War in 1980. Known as “Defense Week,” the event typically includes various programs, ceremonies, and military parades showcasing Iran’s armed forces and military hardware.
The cancellation comes amid heightened security concerns in the region, though specific threats were not detailed. The decision reflects Iran’s cautious approach to public events and its focus on safeguarding national security.
