Israel Blocks Freedom Flotilla from Docking in Gaza

Israel has announced that it will not allow the so-called "Freedom Flotilla" to approach Gaza, instructing the ships to unload their humanitarian aid at the port of Ashkelon to prevent it from reaching Hamas.

Kokcha News Agency – The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs has stated that Israel will not permit the “Freedom Flotilla,” organized by Hamas, to approach Gaza. The flotilla, which claims to carry humanitarian aid, is seen by Israel as a tool to serve Hamas’s objectives.

Israel has made it clear that it will not allow the ships to enter active war zones or violate the legal maritime blockade imposed on Gaza. The Israeli government has instructed the flotilla to dock at the port of Ashkelon, where the aid will be unloaded and then quickly transferred to Gaza in coordination with relevant authorities.

Israel’s stance is based on concerns that the aid could be diverted to support Hamas’s military activities rather than reaching civilians in need. The Israeli government has emphasized that if the flotilla’s organizers are genuinely interested in delivering humanitarian aid without assisting Hamas, they should cooperate by unloading the cargo at Ashkelon.

This move comes as part of Israel’s broader efforts to maintain security while addressing the humanitarian needs of Gaza’s civilian population. Israel has repeatedly accused Hamas of using humanitarian aid for military purposes, including the construction of tunnels and the procurement of weapons.
