NEWYORK (Kokcha.News) — Chilean President Gabriel Boric has called for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to be tried by an international court over the massacres in Gaza. Speaking at the 80th United Nations General Assembly, Boric condemned Israel’s attacks on Gaza, its bombardment of Iran, and the invasion of Ukraine. In a sharp critique, Boric stated, “I do not wish for Netanyahu and his family to be torn apart by a missile. I want Netanyahu and those responsible for the genocide against the Palestinian people to be held accountable before an international court.”
Boric highlighted the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, emphasizing that thousands of innocent people are losing their lives simply because they are Palestinian, drawing parallels to the Holocaust. He stressed that Gaza is a global crisis because it is a crisis of humanity, and the pain felt in Chile is shared by the majority of the world. Boric also addressed the Russia-Ukraine war, stating that as humans, we are connected to the suffering of others, whether it be a Palestinian mother searching for food or a Ukrainian child abducted in Russia.
He condemned Israel’s attack on Qatar, stating that inviting a neutral country to negotiations and then killing the other party violates that country’s sovereignty. Boric concluded by criticizing the bombing of Iran’s nuclear facilities and the invasion of Iraq under false pretenses of weapons of mass destruction.
