Erdoğan Calls for Global Action: “Stand Firm with Palestine, End the Genocide in Gaza”
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, in a passionate address at the 80th United Nations General Assembly, urged world leaders to take a stand against the ongoing "genocide" in Gaza, labeling Israel's actions as a "collective massacre policy." Erdoğan called for an immediate ceasefire, accountability for those responsible, and international recognition of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), while criticizing the global system for its injustices and reiterating his call for a fairer world.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered a powerful speech at the 80th United Nations General Assembly, focusing on the humanitarian tragedy in Gaza and criticizing the global system’s injustices. He described the situation in Gaza as a “genocide,” stating that over 65,000 civilians, including more than 20,000 children, have been killed in the ongoing Israeli attacks.
Erdoğan condemned the international community for its silence, stating, “What is happening in Gaza is not a war; it is a policy of occupation, displacement, and mass slaughter.” He highlighted that Israel, armed with modern weapons, is targeting innocent civilians, including children, while the world watches.
The President also criticized the global system, reiterating his famous phrase, “The world is bigger than five,” and called for a more just international order. He urged world leaders to take a stand against the barbarity in Gaza, emphasizing that those who remain silent are complicit in the violence.
Erdoğan also addressed the Cyprus issue, calling on the international community to recognize the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and end the unjust isolation of the Turkish Cypriots. He stressed that the Cyprus problem cannot be resolved through a federation model, as it has been repeatedly tried and failed due to the intransigence of the Greek Cypriot side.
In his speech, Erdoğan also touched on Syria, expressing support for a unified and stable Syria, and called for international cooperation to address the ongoing crises in the region. He reiterated Turkey’s commitment to peace and stability in the Middle East and beyond.
