Syria Triumphs for the World, Embarking on a New Chapter of Peace and Prosperity

Syrian President Ahmad Shara declares that Syria has triumphed for the world by dismantling a criminal system that lasted 60 years, and is now moving forward to write a new chapter of peace and prosperity.

Kokcha News Agency: In his address to the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly, Syrian President Ahmad Sharaa emphasized that Syria’s victory over a decades-long oppressive regime has not only liberated its people but also created a historic opportunity to bring stability, peace, and prosperity to the entire region.

Sharaa called for the complete lifting of sanctions, which he said continue to burden the Syrian people and restrict their freedom. He stressed that Syria’s story is far from over, as the nation is now focused on building a new chapter centered on peace, development, and prosperity.

“The Syrian story is one of mixed emotions, where pain intertwines with hope. It is a story of the eternal struggle between good and evil, between the weak truth that has no helper but God and the powerful falsehood that possesses all the tools of destruction,” Ahmed al-Sharaa said.

He recounted the suffering of the Syrian people under the previous regime, which he accused of using the most brutal methods of torture, chemical weapons, and forced displacement, leading to the deaths of nearly a million people and the displacement of 14 million others.

Despite these challenges, Ahmed al-Sharaa highlighted Syria’s recent victory, which he described as a triumph for the oppressed, the tortured, and the forcibly displaced. He emphasized that Syria’s military actions were marked by mercy, forgiveness, and a commitment to justice, resulting in a victory that restored the people’s rights without seeking revenge.

Ahmed al-Sharaa also addressed the ongoing threats from Israel, which he said continue to destabilize the region. He called on the international community to stand with Syria in respecting its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The president outlined Syria’s new policies, which focus on balanced diplomacy, security stability, and economic development. He noted that Syria has restored its international relations, established regional and global partnerships, and is working to rebuild its institutions and laws to ensure the rights of all citizens.

Ahmed al-Sharaa concluded by thanking the nations and peoples who supported Syria during its struggle, particularly Turkey, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United States, and the European Union. He also expressed solidarity with the people of Gaza and other oppressed communities, calling for an immediate end to war.

“The Syrian story is not over yet. It continues to build a new chapter, one of peace, prosperity, and development,” Ahmed al-Sharaa declared.
