Tony Blair Allegedly Part of U.S. Post-War Plan for Gaza
Reports suggest the U.S. is considering appointing former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair as the temporary administrator of Gaza following the end of the Israeli offensive.
Kokcha News Agency: According to Haaretz, an Israeli newspaper citing Israeli and Arab sources, the U.S. is working on a post-war plan for Gaza that excludes the Palestinian Authority in its initial phase. The plan reportedly involves establishing a temporary governance structure for Gaza, with former British Prime Minister Tony Blair at its helm.
The Israeli source claimed that the White House, with the support of President Donald Trump, is pushing for this plan, which also includes the deployment of an international force in Gaza. Arab sources added that the plan envisions an international authority overseeing Gaza’s reconstruction and governance for several years, with authority granted by the UN Security Council. This authority would eventually transfer control back to the Palestinian Authority.
Netanyahu’s Opposition:
However, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer are reportedly opposed to transferring control of Gaza to the Palestinian Authority.
