Hamas Calls for International Trial of Tony Blair Over His Crimes
The Hamas movement has labeled former British Prime Minister Tony Blair a "negative figure" and called for him to be tried in international courts for the crimes he committed, particularly during the Iraq War.

Kokcha News Agency: In a statement on Sunday, Hamas spokesperson Husam Badran declared that Tony Blair, the former British Prime Minister, is a controversial figure who should face international justice for his actions, especially during the Iraq War. Badran emphasized that Blair’s involvement in any plan related to Palestine would be a “grim warning” for the Palestinian people.
According to the Anadolu Agency, Badran described Blair as the “brother of the devil,” accusing him of bringing no good to the Palestinian cause or to Arabs and Muslims in general. He stated that Blair’s criminal and destructive legacy has been well-known for years.
Badran further asserted that the governance of Gaza or the West Bank is an internal matter that should be resolved through national consensus, rejecting any external imposition by regional or international parties. He stressed that the Palestinian people are capable of managing their own affairs.
The Hamas spokesperson revealed that since December 2023, the leadership of Hamas has made an internal decision, shared among various groups, stating that they do not wish to govern Gaza alone. This decision predates the recent escalation of conflict against the Palestinian people.
Recent reports have surfaced about a proposed plan for Gaza, suggesting that Tony Blair would head a temporary technocratic government in the region. Hamas has strongly opposed this idea, viewing it as an unwelcome intervention in Palestinian affairs.
